The Card Case Forum, 2009

Card cases were made in a variety of sizes and outline shapes, and the image below demonstrates how much the size of ladies’ cases vary; the variance in gentlemen’s cases is equally in evidence.

The cardinal rule was that cases for ladies were always larger than those for gentlemen: a standard lady's case measured about 75 x 100mm (3" x 4"), whilst a gentleman’s case was generally no larger than 48 x 88mm (2" x 3½").
