"If you collect visiting card cases you can be sure of uninterrupted excitement: just when you think you are the owner of a huge and representative collection of every kind of case, a new and unexpected case turns up ... and you are hunting again!”

In a relatively short space of time, Wladimir Herman has built up a considerable collection of visiting card cases - despite living in Denmark where card cases are virtually unknown and rarely come onto the market. In June 2005, his entire collection was exhibited at the Søllerød Museum near Copenhagen.
Born in Poland, Wladimir Herman is a trained theatre director who has directed plays in theatres in his adopted homeland, Denmark, as well as in Sweden, Germany, Moscow, New York and Budapest. Since 2000 he has limited his theatre directing, concentrating instead on antiques, a passion which he developed in his native Poland.
In the late 1980s Wladimir Herman became interested in
paper antiques, and has amassed an interesting collection of ephemera. Antique visiting card cases is a relatively new area for him, but his love of travel has made it possible for him to specialise in this field. Through his many contacts and internet auctions, he has been able to build up a considerable collection.
